Welcome to Caithness Renewables Ltd
The county of Caithness in the north of Scotland is well-placed in energy terms; with the world's first commercial wave and tidal leasing round off its north coast, impressive offshore wind opportunities off its east coast and other excellent resources such as biomass and oil exploration from an onshore location, the county is the ideal location to grow and train the next generation of energy industry workers.
Caithness Renewables Ltd, based in Thurso, aims to support the growth of renewable energy:
· Successful establishment of the marine energy industry in the Pentland Firth region
· Working with the offshore wind industry to develop schemes that fit with communities & promote business growth
· Supporting renewable energy schemes across the Highlands & Islands and advising on initiatives across the world
· Supporting renewables developers, the supply chain, agencies, potential investors, academia and other interested parties.
Louise Smith, a chartered civil engineer with wide-ranging experience in the planning, design and construction of major infrastructure schemes and their environmental mitigation, provides consultancy services to renewable energy developers, utilities and agencies, and also advice on the renewables industry to businesses interested in breaking into this market.
